Meet the 3 Entrepreneurs we Invested in for International Women’s Day

On International Women’s Day (March 8), we donated 100% of our global sales to female entrepreneurs within our community. If you made a purchase on this day, you helped us donate to these business owners.

We chose this initiative to align with the UN’s 2024 theme for International Women’s Day: “Invest in women: Accelerate progress.” Through this effort, we hope to shine a spotlight on the importance of gender equality, a human rights challenge that UN Women aims to achieve by 2030.

Ahead, we are proud to introduce you to the inspiring business owners who have been selected to benefit from a portion of our global sales made on March 8:

Laverne, NVLX Labs

NVLX Labs was founded by New York-born loctician, entrepreneur and natural hair enthusiast, Laverne. Passionate about natural beauty, Laverne created an innovative line of cruelty free and vegan hair care specifically for the interlocked community. The International Women’s Day donation will get her closer to producing the inaugural batch of “Locs Loading” shampoo, her proprietary formula designed specifically for interlocs.

Willow, By Willow Florals

By Willow Florals is an Oregon-based floral design studio started by Willow, a graphic designer and photographer turned florist. The studio provides locally-sourced modern floral arrangements for weddings and special events, and hosts floral arranging workshops. The donation will help Willow hire an SEO consultant to optimize her website and increase brand visibility in the local market.

Janine, Janine Theobald Photography

Janine Theobald is a product and fashion photographer located in Northwest Arkansas, and the owner of a rentable photography studio. Her services include photography, photography production, set styling, talent casting and location scouting. With the donation, Janine plans to invest in some of her most-wanted photography and studio equipment to help elevate her business.

Thank you to everyone who participated, shared, and contributed to this year’s initiative.

In 2023, we donated to women entrepreneurs in the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU). You can learn more about our impact here.
